It was still a bit on the cool side today (mid 60’s but with a
cool wind making it seem colder) but we decided this afternoon to get off our
lazy butts and get some exercise. We ran some errands this morning, had a quick
lunch and loaded up the bikes for a bike ride at Rondeau Provincial Park…..28km
later we quit, tired but happy. By this time it was after 5:30 and we opted for
a veggie burger at the park restaurant instead of cooking at home….one of the
perks of being retired!
Today’s card is another dragonfly card made on water colour
paper. It could be used for a number of occasions.
This one could almost be called a mixed media card. The
background was done with Tim Holtz Distress Inks – I only have about a dozen of
his Distress Inks …all older ones, nothing new and none of his markers, paint
or glazes – but I do love the Distress Inks. Several colours were sponged on
the water colour paper and then water was squirted into my hand and then
flipped on to the card. That’s what creates those lovely water blooms. Such a
cool affect. If you spritz tiny drops it looks like either rain or snow
depending on the card. The dragonflies were stamped with Archival ink and then
painted with glimmer paint. A few sequins were glued on as well. Sequins are
very “in” right now. Dollarama had a packs of them today so I picked up pink,
blue and purple ones so I won’t have to tint the clear ones I have with alcohol
ink now.
That’s all for a cool Wednesday. More rain expected tomorrow so
I’ll probably be homebound and maybe some more cards or scrapbooking or
quilting will get done.
Cheers
Violet
