A Very Pink Card

After several days of the heat being in the 90’s and some days over 100F, this morning was a surprise to find it down to 66F. We did have a series of thunderstorms pass over last night and they must have brought the relief to the high temperatures. Some of the storms caused a lot of damage in some areas but not too much around here.

Saturday we decided to walk through the Art in the Boulevard in Erieau. There were some very talented people there but nothing enticed me to buy thing. There were a lot of photographers with their prints for sale and several jewellery booths and a scattering of other crafts. We didn’t think there was as much variety as last year though but it was nice to walk through…..and meeting up with friends and relatives too. Sunday was another 30.6km bike ride and even though it was still hot, there was a strong wind that kept it cooler. Today was a take it easy day.

Today’s card is a sweet card made with one of the new stamps from Penny Black. It's very pink, but I happen to like pink. In fact, pink flowers are my favourites.

This one was stamped using Tombow markers, spritzed with water and stamped onto water colour paper. While it was still wet I used a paint brush to move around some of the colour and added some shading. Some clear glitter glue was added to give it some shine and a pearl was added to the centre of the main flower.

The background was made by wetting it and dropping in water colour paint. The tag was coloured and the sentiment is a peel-off. It was just glued on and then I added a pink pearl to look like a brad. Three small pearls were added to the top. Once it was dry it was glued to the card base.

That’s all for a cool, quiet Monday,

Cheers
Violet
